I have over 16 years experience creating videos. I have managed all aspects of dozens of productions from idea conception, pre-production and planning, to directing shoots, DPing and operating cameras, all the way through to editing, motion graphics and colour correction. Although I prefer to direct and guide the creative vision of a project myself, I have also worked alongside the finest professionals in large-scale productions as part of the camera department.
I’ve had the pleasure of working with over 60 different clients from all over the world, both locally and remotely, on a huge range of projects including music videos, video loops for screens in clubs, festivals & events, social media ads with both real footage and motion graphics, promotional videos, documentaries & corporate events.
Here’s what some of them have to say:
In short, Max Palmer is a solid professional and a delight to work with. One may also describe him as: Brilliant. Talented. Patient. Creative. Organized. Skilled. Inspired. Prolific.
Palmer delivered more than he promised, far more than he was compensated for, and what he gave us back was exactly what we needed. He listened to our desires, shot what he could under some less than optimum conditions, and the output blew us away.
It is with pleasure and absolute conviction that I heartily recommend Mr. Palmer. His technical talents and artistic eye would be a boon to any project he works on.Salman A. NensiInternational Communications Manager, Nensi Co.
Max has worked on multiple album projects for us including Etherwood, Fred V & Grafix and Keeno. For Etherwood's debut album he created a cohesive video campaign for every track from the album, which undeniably contributed towards the great success of the release.
His ideas have always been original and the work has always been completed on time. All the videos submitted have been of a great quality and can be viewed on our Youtube channel.
We will continue to use Max for future projects, and are happy to recommend his services.Romy HarberDigital Manager, Hospital Records
As a musician and fellow artist, it's tough to take what's in my brain and make it come to life exactly how it's visualized. Working with Max however, that wasn't the case. I gave him a few spitball ideas, some clips of things I had in mind, and allowed him to bring forth my visuals to life. I'm a smaller artist, so I didn't have the biggest budget, but he was able to work within my means and the final product was above and beyond what I expected. I'd happily hire him again, his style is unique and he was a pleasure working with. Great communication, accepted feedback well, and delivered on time. Thanks man!Anthony SamahaArtist & DJ: Samaha Beats
Max Palmer Visuals is a life saver.
My company had a last minute donation of a huge LED screen for our fundraising gala and quickly needed a visual loop that would act as a focal point for the entire event. I had a very specific wish list for an animated loop to fit our theme and could not find what I was looking for anywhere. A colleague recommended Max but I was nervous; he was all the way over in New Zealand and I was in Toronto and this was a rush job. I need not have worried.
Max was a pleasure to work with, professional, lightning fast and the results were even better than I could have hoped for. He listened closely to what I was asking for and tweaked the loop until he had created in reality what had only been a dream in my mind. The loop set the mood for the whole event and twinkled in the background enhancing what was taking place on stage rather than overpowering it. It was perfect and I can’t thank Max enough.
I recommend him highly and given the opportunity would absolutely love to work with him again.Patti McCabeEvents Manager, Toronto Wildlife Centre
Max is an innovative, imaginative and highly talented videographer, and I would have no doubt in recommending him to work on any project.
During our end of year degree show in 2013, Max created a series of original, high quality ‘behind the scenes’ videos to provide an insight into how the exhibition was managed and organised. He produced some outstanding work that was both informative and entertaining, and is still used within our marketing and teaching materials today.Andrew J KitchenhamCreative Technology Lecturer, Bournemouth University
I got Max Palmer to do some visuals for a club night I promoted in the Bournemouth area called Tropics. I gave Max a simple brief to work with and was over the moon with the result, which was a stunning ten minute visual loop that dramatically contributed to the vibe of the night. Furthermore the work was completed before the deadline.
Will be using Max again in the near future for sure.Toby KingPromoter & Event Organiser
Max produced a number of videos for me. The results were better than I could have imagined and produced a lot of interest in me as an artist.
Max is very creative, a great collaborator - always happy to hear my suggestions - professional and technically excellent. The videos we worked on were successful and great fun to make.
I would highly recommend a chat with Max to anyone considering a video project.Michael CohenMusical Artist: The Fabulous Micky C
I have been working with Max for roughly 5 years and best friends with him for at least 10. Together we have constructed art that I would consider to be some of my greatest achievements.
Max's attitude towards creativity, his eye for composition and his enthusiasm is like nobody I have ever met and am ever likely to meet. If you're lucky enough to work with him, you're very lucky indeed.
I can not recommend him enough.Rory WannertonRapper / Actor
It was great to work with Max on my music video. His experience and skill meant that everything went very smoothly. He took my ideas and points on board instantly, which showed in the first draft, as well as bringing his own ideas to the table which worked very well.
Even though we were on different sides of the world, Max completed the video in a couple of days. The result was everything I could have asked for and more. Extremely happy with how it turned out!
I would recommend him to anyone out there.KonciseMusic Producer
Max provided us not only with a first class video to enable us to share our work in providing arts therapies to countries recovering from genocide with the international community, but he also provides a true passion and commitment to his work.
Highly recommended.Tori GreenFounder, Hand in HeART Project / Creator, Sok San Street Festival, Cambodia
Very professional and wonderful to work with, brings fun and enthusiasm into every second! I am thrilled how the video came out, such a creative soul.
Would highly recommend Max for any of your visual needs!Natasha SofiaFounder, Maya Attire (fashion brand & festival shop)
For 9 months, Max worked with my team and I at, Lotus Lodge in Siem Reap Cambodia. We worked together in creating beautifully shot tourism videos for our guests to enjoy.
Max has a great understanding of cinematography and his editing is remarkable. It would be my pleasure to again work with Max in creating beautiful videos.Mitch St.PierreManager, Lotus Lodge, Cambodia
Max was an inspirational cat to work with. He is hugely positive, versatile and reactive. Every idea was possible, nothing was longed out or stressful. The results he got from our obscenely low budget set-up are amazing. Since shooting the video I have had meetings with film lecturers and producers and they have balked at the revelation that our video was shot on a total shoe string.

My passion for making videos was born through skateboarding. From around the age of 10 I was using the Hi-8 camera I found in my Grandad’s attic to film my friends skate and generally be stupid. We didn’t even have a computer to edit on – we just watched the raw tapes on the TV. I loved it.
I was absolutely committed to getting my own camera, and being too young to work, I sold almost everything I had on ebay and saved every last penny I could to buy my first ever camera. It was a Sony Hi-8 with night vision, and it did to me what The Genie did to Aladdin.
We spent our early teens taking trips on trains around The UK to skate and explore exciting new places, and I loved to document these adventures. When we got our first decent computer at home that could actually edit video, I would wake up stupidly early to edit videos before school.
In my mid-teens, now more clued up, I saved up for a better camera (a Panasonic 3CCD Mini-DV), made new skate-edits almost every day, and created a skateboarding blog that hosted all my videos (before the days of YouTube & MySpace) which attracted thousands of weekly views, and ended up being one of South England’s go-to skateboarding websites with new videos almost daily, all filmed and edited by me.
At University in Bournemouth, I was exposed to a whole new world of music, musicians, and clubs. I got work shooting videos for clubs and recording studios, as well as creating psychedelic visual loops for screens in clubs and festivals. I started to meet more musicians and creative individuals, and naturally gravitated towards directing, shooting and editing music videos. During my time at Uni, I worked with many artists and clubs in the Bournemouth and London areas.
After gaining a 1st in my degree of Creative Media Technology, I left England to see what the rest of the world had to offer. Since then I have worked with over 60 different clients in Asia, The US, South America, New Zealand and Europe, creating a whole range of visual content for various platforms.
I spent a lot of time working in SE Asia in 2013-14, and landed a gig with Hospital Records where I created 13 unique music videos, a different one for every trackon the debut album by Etherwood, using footage I shot in Asia. These attracted millions of views.
I then started working with a Canadian-run Hotel in Siem Reap, where I edited an hour long documentary that they had shot about the ups and downs of running such a venture. It was aired several times on CBC Television in Canada.
While in Cambodia I also worked with many NGOs and local travel companies, creating promotional videos for them to use online that raised awareness of their cause, and I also created videos and loops that were used on screens in tourism offices & hotel receptions, to attract attention to local tours & guides. These were praised as really helping the local people and community.
Since the success of the Etherwood videos, I now have an ongoing relationship with multi-award winning UK Drum and Bass label Hospital Records, for whom I have created over 4 dozen music videos with footage from Asia, The US, Central Europe and New Zealand, which have attracted 3 award nominations, a Film Festival Official Selection, millions of online views, and have been broadcast on VH1 and MTV in NZ & Australia.
I am now based in Barcelona working as a Music Video Director & Editor. I am also taking on a range of other projects such as social media ad campaigns, and am working with artists, studios, and businesses, (both locally and internationally), to create visuals that promote their projects, whatever they might be.
